Generic Version of Lexcol XL Now Available
September 17, 2015 – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Mylan’s AB-rated generic to Lexcol XL (fluvastatin sodium extended-release) 80mg tablets. Lescol XL is manufactured by Novartis and belongs to a class of drugs known as HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, or statins and had been approved in October 2000 for reducing high cholesterol levels. Mylan has already begin shipments and the generic version of Lexcol XL is now available.
