Generic to Invega Launched

October 25, 2015 – Allergan launched the first AB-rated generic version of Invega (Paliperidone extended-release tablets), manufactured by Janssen Pharmaceuticals.  Paliperidone extended-release tablets are indicated for the treatment of Schizophrenia in adults, and adolescents 12 years of age and older, and is also approved for the treatment of Schizoaffective disorder as a monotherapy and as an adjunct to mood stabilizers and/or antidepressant therapy in adults. Actavis and Mylan were also granted approval to market generics to the 1.5mg, 3mg, 6mg, and 9mg tablets. Allergan has already begun to ship its generic version of Invega.

Adverse reactions or quality problems experienced with the use of a recalled product may be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program either online, by regular mail or by fax.
